Red Bluff is a beautiful tract of approximately 500 acres of high land and 5,000 acres of marsh located currently in Jasper County. Because of the county property lines changing it was previously in Beaufort County and prior to that in Charleston County which was called Berkeley County during the Proprietary Period. The De Brahm 1757 map shows it’s location between the Wright and New River. The plat accompanying the grant from King George III shows the area already being known as Red Bluff. They received a subsequent grant from the State of South Carolina for additional marsh.
